Luxury Mediterranean Regent Cruise
Our cruise from Istanbul to Venice on the Regent Seven Seas was just perfect! The ship was a delight in so many ways – our cabin was a suite with a balcony, sitting area and a large closet and bathroom.
The meals were delicious, and with the open seating and no formal nights – you could choose to eat alone, with friends, or join a larger table at random. Our fellow passengers were a terrific group – all well-traveled and well-educated.Â
So starting a conversation with anyone also led to interesting discussions. The organization by the staff was excellent – all activities and excursions were well-planned and so our departures and returns always went smoothly. Bill and I especially loved Istanbul and Dubrovnik but enjoyed every port of call except Zachynthos which will likely never be another Regent destination.
The special Virtuoso tour of Ephesus was exceptional! Our tour guide was a history professor, Max, and the hosts (Andi and Norm Gordon) made our day a very pleasurable excursion.
After a detailed visit of the old city including the newly opened terrace homes, we enjoyed a delightful lunch and Turkish dancing. Later in the week, Andi and Norm hosted a cocktail party so we could all recount our experiences at Ephesus, and other travels.
Once again – Covington and Valerie Ambrose hit a home run!
