Virginia Opera in Santa Fe
Friends and supporters of the Virginia Opera recently visited Santa Fe to experience the city’s vibrant arts community which is influenced by a mix of Native American, Southwestern and Spanish culture. Highlights of this trip included a backstage tour and performances of Rigoletto and The Daughter of the Regiment at the Santa Fe Opera.
Josée Covington, President and CEO of Covington Travel, hosted the tour and Dee Dee White, Corporate Meeting & Event Planner at Covington Travel, planned the itinerary and managed the travel arrangements on behalf of the Virginia Opera.
“BRAVISSIMA to Mrs. Covington and her super staff for their creativity in making all of this happen for us. We look forward to being together on another Opera Lovers adventure with you next summer.”

“I just wanted to thank you all again for the wonderful Santa Fe Opera trip! I know how much work goes into arranging something like this and everything was perfect. The hotel was wonderful, the transportation worked perfectly and the meals were great. The walking tour of the Plaza area was a fun way to learn about the town and begin to explore its beauty.
And, of course, the highlight was two magical evenings at the opera. Such an amazing facility and both productions were so memorable, enhanced by our welcome talk, the pre-show lectures and the docent-led backstage tour. Special thanks for arranging to have Phyllis Pancella join us for dinner and the backstage access after her performance. An added bonus was making so many new friends in the group.
“Thanks for all you did, and I look forward to future trips!”
Best regards,
Carole
“Thanks so much for the photo “gallery” from the Santa Fe trip. It was a wonderful outing. All of you at the VA Opera and Covington Travel put together a fine Opera in Santa Fe excursion.”
