Vacation Travel Advisor
Covington Travel is looking for a Vacation Travel Advisor, reporting to our Richmond, Virginia corporate headquarters. This position can also be fully remote or hybrid. Job Summary:
- Consult leisure travelers in planning vacation travel, including tours, cruises, foreign independent travel (FIT), and customized services
- Assist leisure travelers with air, car, and hotel reservations as needed
- Foster and maintain excellent client relations with prompt and accurate responses to telephone calls and email messages
- Participate in weekly continuing education sessions on destinations and travel suppliers
- Share knowledge and experiences with vacation team with additional duties and responsibilities as requested
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Basic knowledge of domestic and international geography
- Degree in Hospitality & Tourism is preferred
- Minimum 3 years work experience in the travel industry
- Exhibit self-motivation and ability to work independently
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Actively increase knowledge using resources made available
- Exercise discretion and sound independent judgment
