When tasked with planning a winter sales incentive award trip, you might think the organizers would automatically choose a beautiful Caribbean island or warm-weather cruise; perhaps a trip to Hawaii or Europe comes to mind. But don’t rule out cold-weather destinations as fun and engaging incentive trips. Recently, Covington Meetings & Events (CM&E) arranged an incentive trip for a group of client’s top producers and their guests to Jackson Hole, Wyoming – in March! For a group who had previously enjoyed incentive trips to the sun and sand of the tropics and the culture of San Francisco, this was quite a change – and they LOVED it!

CM&E arranged all aspects of the incentive trip, beginning with four nights at the luxurious Four Seasons Resort located in Teton Village. This resort offers ski-in/ski-out privileges to slopes that accommodate beginner to advanced skiers and snowboarders. For those who wanted some pointers, CM&E arranged to have ski instructors on the slopes, but there’s much more winter sport in Jackson Hole beyond the ski slopes. Trip participants also had opportunities for private dog sledding, snowmobiling in Grand Teton National Park, and riding in a horse-drawn sleigh out to the herds of elk wintering in the National Elk Refuge. They’d never have gotten to do those things at the beach!

Located just 50 miles south of Yellowstone National Park, this northwestern corner of Wyoming is beautiful year-round, but is a unique winter group destination. The readers of SKI magazine awarded Jackson Hole Mountain Resort the best ski resort in North America, but the area is just as much about the wildlife, the natural beauty and the spirit of the American West.
