Wonder of the Seas is the fifth in the impressive lineup of Oasis Class cruise ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet. While the Oasis Class sister ships are each award-winning engineering marvels, the Wonder of the Seas has some unique features and will be the biggest cruise ship in the world when it launches in March 2022.
How Big Is Wonder of the Seas?
At double occupancy, Wonder of the Seas holds 5,734 guests, served by 2,300 crew members. It is longer than a football field (1,188 feet long), soars 18 decks above the water, and weighs in at 236,857 tons.
8 Neighborhoods of Wonder of the Seas
You might think that it’s hard to find your way around a ship of this size; however, Royal Caribbean designed all Oasis Class with neighborhoods that make the ship easy to navigate. Each neighborhood is visually distinctive so guests can quickly see the theme and what is offered there.
Wonder of the Seas New Suite Neighborhood
The new Wonder of the Seas is the first Oasis Class cruise ship to include the Suite Neighborhood. This exclusive area is only accessible (via key card) to Star and Sky suite guests. Guests enjoy a Suites Lounge, comfy loungers for sunning, and nooks for enjoying the sea air in the shade. A plunge pool and bar are on deck, along with the Coastal Kitchen, a favorite Oasis Class specialty restaurant dedicated to suites guests only.
Another exciting suite enhancement on the Wonder of the Seas Suite Neighborhood is the Ultimate Family Suite with a two-story slide, a corner balcony with table tennis, and a private whirlpool. It’s the largest Family Suite in the fleet with three bedrooms that accommodate up to 10 guests. If you still need more space, just book the connecting Royal Loft Suite. With all that space comes your own dedicated Royal Genie to provide personal VIP service for everything from expediting your luggage handling to making dining and entertainment reservations to planning a special private celebration in your Family Suite.
Seven other neighborhoods on Wonder of the Seas, as well as other Oasis Class ships, include endless ways to make the most of every moment at sea.
Central Park
An open-air park of trees and plants on Deck 8 offers specialty dining venues – made-to-order pizza, a steakhouse, and seasonal menus. There is a bar that slowly moves up and down between two decks and a club for music and dancing.
Royal Promenade
This neighborhood on Deck 5 is like the ship’s downtown with several themed bars – Latin-focused, an English pub, and the popular robot bartenders. Shops, Karaoke, quick food, and one of the main dining rooms round out the services.
Boardwalk
Evoking nostalgic seaside boardwalks, this Deck 6 neighborhood offers outside dining and entertainment for all ages. You can grab a bite at a sports bar, hot dog hut, ice cream shop, or the Johnny Rockets restaurant. The arcade offers classic boardwalk games and the AquaTheater doubles as a movie and game show theater by day and a showcase for splashy aquatic shows by night.
Entertainment Place
On Deck 4, guests go to this neighborhood for shows, drinks, and performances. There are comedy shows, ice-skating performances, open skate times, and laser tag. The Royal Theater on Wonder of the Seas will host nightly productions. There is also a lounge dedicated exclusively to Crown and Anchor Society members.
Wonder Playscape
Royal Caribbean specializes in family cruising, so naturally, Wonder of the Seas has plenty of age-specific programming. Adventurers of all ages can discover an underwater-themed world studded with slides, climbing walls, games, and puzzles with endless possibilities for their imaginations to soar. At night, the Playscape transforms into an otherworldly seascape with fantastical lighting.
Of course, teens need a hangout of their own, so Wonder has the all-new Social 100 for ages 13-17. A secret entrance leads to a large area with snack machines, game consoles, music, and movies. Just outside is a maxed-out patio dedicated to teens with lawn games, a juice bar serving up mocktails and ice cream floats, and for the first time ever, a whirlpool to chill beneath the sun or stars.
Pool and Sports Zone
Active fun is the focus on Decks 15 and 16 with pools, water slides, water cannons, and much more set in a resort-style Caribbean vibe. All Oasis Class ships have multistory water slides (tallest at sea!), surf simulators, rock-climbing walls, and a ten-deck high zip line.
One of the new features on Wonder of the Seas is a totally redesigned pool deck with the largest poolside movie screen in the Royal Caribbean fleet. Wonder also boasts the first cantilevered bar, The Vue, with panoramic ocean views on Deck 15 forward.
Vitality Spa and Fitness
If all the activity leaves you looking for relaxation, the various services and treatments in the Deck 5 and 6 Vitality Spa will do the trick. The Thermal Suite features heated ceramic loungers, saunas, and steam rooms. The beauty salon offers hair styling, shaves, and nail care and the fitness center has a collection of exercise equipment.
