Covington vacation advisor, Doug Floyd visited Villa Premiere Boutique Hotel & Romantic Getaway in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. He was impressed and thinks you will be, too. Here’s his review:
Villa Premiere Boutique Hotel & Romantic Getaway is an intimate, adults-only hideaway on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It’s a hidden gem just 15 minutes from the main shopping and restaurant area of downtown Puerto Vallarta called the Malecon.
Room Amenities at Villa Premiere
Upon arrival, I was greeted with a flute of champagne. By the time I had chosen my pillow type and had my complimentary five-minute massage, my room was ready. I stayed in the spa suite which consists of a living room and a separate bedroom, an in-room jacuzzi, and two doors opening onto a large balcony with a spectacular sea view. Doug’s tip: I was able to sleep with doors open and the waves crashing against the shore…ahhhhhhh!
The rooms are spotless and decorated in contemporary pastel colors with tile floors. Doug’s tip: To completely destress, take advantage of the in-room aromatherapy scent menu and surround yourself with beautiful scents.
The bathroom has a great walk-in rain shower. There is a small kitchenette area with a pod coffee/ tea maker, sink, and mini-fridge that is stocked daily with soft drinks, water, and beer. Doug’s tip: Should you need anything at all, your personal butler is at your beck and call 24 hours a day.
Villa Premiere Hotel Services
The boutique property has only 83 rooms and suites on seven floors – all oceanfront. Doug’s tip: I recommend floors six and seven for the best ocean views.
The hotel provides towel and chair service for guests at the beach and at the two swimming pools. A harpist playing by the pool during Sunday brunch adds to the romantic atmosphere. The beach in front of the hotel was recently refurbished with sand so you are able to walk the beach all the way into town. Doug’s tip: The surf can be rough at times.
The beautiful Mind & Soul Spa has many treatment rooms and offers a selection of services. and my spa Suite included a 25-minute massage. A hair salon is open by appointment and there is a small fitness center. Villa Premiere guests also receive a 20% discount at three nearby golf courses.
During my visit, there were two theme nights when local live entertainment was brought in. Doug’s tip: A concierge is available to make any appointments for on- or off-site services and activities.
High-Quality Dining
There are three very good a la carte restaurant options to choose from. They are all open-air due to the fantastic weather and NO bugs, including mosquitos! All the food is cooked to order and there are no buffets. Every meal I had was delicious and presented in a beautiful way. Wait staff and hosts were very friendly and helpful. Doug’s tip: They are pleased to prepare items that may not be featured on the menu. All you need to do is ask. I saw someone having a cheeseburger for breakfast!
Full meal service is also provided in your room, at the pools and beach with room service available 24 hours a day. The bars serve top-shelf liquors and all the daiquiris are made with fresh fruit. Doug’s tip: You can choose all-inclusive or room-only rates. You can even choose room-only and purchase all-inclusive on a daily basis.
Guests at Villa Premiere also have dining privileges at the restaurants of the Buenaventura Hotel & Beach Club next door. This is a much larger resort that caters to families. Doug’s tip: All meals there are served buffet-style and the lunch I had there was not very good. The larger resort has a totally different atmosphere.
Getting There
When you fly into Puerto Vallarta, expect mass confusion until you get through customs. I used Delta Vacations, so once I got outside, the Delta representatives in their light blue shirts were easy to locate. A minivan took me to Villa Premiere, making one stop at another hotel prior to mine. My return airport transfer was a private taxi. Doug’s tip: For a more exclusive experience, I can always arrange private transfers.
Who should go to Villa Premiere?
Villa Premiere is a wonderful property. The staff is attentive and very friendly. I would recommend this resort to couples, honeymooners, and anyone who is looking for a relaxing, romantic, special experience. A destination wedding of 65 people took place there during my last few days there. Doug’s tip: A pier that juts out into the ocean has a romantic pavilion at the end that’s a lovely venue for a wedding or a special private dinner.
