Celebrity Cruises is known for its culinary focus but their new ship, Edge, takes onboard dining to new heights – literally! You can dine on the Magic Carpet, the world’s first cantilevered platform that floats out over the open ocean. Celebrity Edge dining offers more venues, more menu selections, and more flexibility than any previous Celebrity ship.
Cornelius Gallagher, who notably served as Executive Chef for Manhattan’s Michelin-starred restaurant Oceana, is now Celebrity’s associate vice president for food and beverage and brings fresh innovations and new restaurant concepts to Edge.
Celebrity Edge Dining Options
Guests will enjoy two new enhancements to Main Dining on Edge that are not found on other Celebrity ships. First, you’ll have great flexibility of dining times. You may choose between traditional Early or Late Seating (6:15 pm and 8:45 pm, respectively) or Celebrity Select Dining, which is open seating (6:00 pm – 9:30 pm). If you elect Select Dining, you can make all of your dinner reservations before the cruise, reserve them day by day onboard, or just go to the dining room when you’re ready for dinner.
The second innovation to the Main Dining Room is that there are four of them! 75 percent of the menu will be the same in each of the Main Dining restaurants, with the remaining 25 percent representing the cuisine from different geographic regions of the globe. You are welcome to dine in a different one each night with no specialty dining charges.
- Tuscan Restaurant – Cuisine from Southern Italy inspired by one of Celebrity’s signature specialty dining venues, Tuscan Grille, will undoubtedly be a guest favorite.
- Normandie Restaurant – Contemporary French cuisine, inspired by another of Celebrity’s signature restaurants, Murano, will bring the pleasures of France to Edge guests.
- Cyprus Restaurant – In a tribute to Celebrity’s Greek heritage, the Mediterranean menu will feature Greek specialties.
- Cosmopolitan Restaurant – Featuring guest favorites from Celebrity’s other Main Dining Rooms, you could call the menu here “the best of the best.”
Another new feature on Celebrity Edge is the addition of class-specific dining rooms.
- Blu – This spa-centric dining venue is only for guests staying in the AquaClass cabins and suites.
- Luminae – Located in The Retreat section on Deck 12, this restaurant is for the exclusive use of suite guests.
There are also four complimentary casual dining venues onboard.
- Eden Café – Complimentary to-go breakfast and lunch bites are available inside the Eden specialty restaurant.
- Oceanview Café – Celebrity’s signature buffet restaurant.
- Mast Grill – Celebrity’s poolside grill.
- Grand Plaza Café – A small café offering daytime nibbles.

Celebrity Cruises President and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo explained, “Culinary is one of Celebrity Cruises brand pillars and we applied our ongoing commitment to freshness, locally-sourced, farm-to-table, unique ingredients and theatrical presentation to come up with concepts and venues that go above and beyond anything we’ve ever done.”
Seven all new specialty dining venues showcase Celebrity’s commitment to fresh and authentic cuisine with the added twist of unique presentations and settings.
- Eden Restaurant – This five-course fine dining experience becomes a theatrical presentation as menu items with names like morning dew and heavenly sin are served by performance artists called “Edenists” and ends in “The Crescendo” in the bar. ($65)
- Dinner on the Edge – Ultra-exclusive sky-high dining is only available once or twice per cruise when the Magic Carpet is parked on Deck 16. The gourmet menu will be designed by the chef from locally sourced proteins and produce. (price not yet released)

- Raw on 5 – Savor the best of the sea at this raw bar serving every delectable ocean treat from sushi to caviar to New England clam chowder. When the Magic Carpet is parked on Deck 5, Raw has an outdoor extension. (priced a la carte)
- Le Grand Bistro – Enjoy French specialties served in classic French bistro setting – both sidewalk tables and inside with sea views. Breakfast and lunch will offer a la carte items from the sidewalk counter, while dinner will offer classic French cuisine and an extensive wine menu. ($25)
- Le Petit Chef – An amusing 4-D animated character prepares your plate in an entertaining TableMations Studio performance. It will only be offered once or twice during the cruise in Le Grand Bistro. (price not yet released)
Three additional a la carte cafés – Café Al Bacio (specialty coffees), Spa Café and Juice Bar (healthy bites), and Il Secondo Bacio (grab and go coffee) – plus 11 bars and lounges complete the 29 food and beverage options on Edge.
The new Edge debuts November 21, 2018 and will sail seven-night eastern and western Caribbean itineraries from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale for the winter/spring season. In summer 2019, it will move to the Mediterranean.
