Building a new cruise ship takes time, planning and lots of money. Building the most luxurious cruise ship in the world requires vision, dedication and passion above and beyond the status quo – even by luxury standards. In 2013, Regent Seven Seas Cruises announced their intention of doing just that by constructing the all-new Seven Seas Explorer. 18 months later, that vision is coming to fruition.
Breathlessly Elegant, Spaciously Intimate
Frank Del Rio, Prestige Cruise Holdings Chief Executive Officer, called Seven Seas Explorer “the next generation of cruise ships for the world’s most inclusive luxury cruise line.” It will be a 750-passenger, all-suite, all-balcony ship that is both classic and timeless. The ultra-elegant public rooms will incorporate glass staircases, exotic stonework and museum-worthy art. Polished woods, sophisticated lighting and rich fabrics will complete the sophisticated je ne sais quoi.
All of the suites are guaranteed to be spacious and stylish, each with a private balcony, walk-in closet and bathroom detailed in marble and stone. The opulent Regent Suite is truly one of a kind, unlike any other at sea. At 3,875 square feet, it features a 958 square foot wrap-around balcony, a private in-suite spa, a spacious living room and two and a half bathrooms. If all that luxury isn’t lavish enough, the clincher is the glass-walled Vista Garden deck with a 270-degree view over the bow of the ship!
The gourmet dining options on board Seven Seas Explorer will include favorites from Regent’s other ships: their signature steakhouse, Prime 7; the Compass Rose main dining room; and La Veranda which serves Italian-inspired cuisine buffet-style for lunch then becomes Setti Mari fine dining for dinner.
Entertainment options will also be reminiscent of other Regent ships. Larger productions will be shown in the Constellation Theater with tiered, cabaret-style seating and small tables interspersed. The Observation Lounge will have a shimmering Roaring Twenty’s theme with floor to ceiling windows, a dance floor and bar. The Explorer Lounge will be a clubby atmosphere done in leather and wood with a small stage for live music. The elegant Monte Carlo-style casino will offer slots and various gaming tables for those who want to roll the dice either figuratively or literally.
Where and when will the most luxurious cruise ship in the world sail?
Although the first steel was cut nine months ago, there’s still a lot of work to be done before Seven Seas Explorer is ready to sail. The maiden voyage is scheduled for July 20, 2016 on a 14-night cruise from Monte Carlo to Venice. The ship will visit other iconic ports throughout the Mediterranean through November 2016.
Reservations are now open for the inaugural season of the new ship and are understandably filling fast even this far in advance. If you’ve ever experienced the quality and luxury of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, you’ll expect them to fulfill their vision of the most luxurious cruise ship in the world and appreciate the excitement. If you haven’t yet sailed with Regent, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the most inclusive luxury at sea.
