Imagine living in a picture-perfect location, surrounded by deluxe amenities. For some, that means uninterrupted ocean views and a waterfront swimming pool. Others might prefer a lush garden setting and a tennis court, or a panoramic view of the Tuscan countryside and a personal chef. If you’ve ever longed to live in luxury, you’ll find a villa vacation will exceed even the most discerning travelers’ expectations.
Why Choose a Villa Vacation?
Contrary to what you may think, you don’t have to be Bill Gates to rent a villa. Of course, pricing varies with the size, location, and amenities, but when broken down to the cost per person, prices are on par with luxury resorts. Plus, you get so much more value with a villa vacation:
- Room to spread out – You’ll appreciate more living space and comfort than a hotel room provides.
- Privacy – Enjoy quality time with just friends and family without masses of photo-snapping tourists or whiny toddlers who need a nap.
- Authenticity – You’ll have a genuine local experience by engaging with residents as you shop for or dine on native foods.
There are a plethora of fine villas available to rent for vacations throughout Europe, the Caribbean, Mexico, South Africa, Thailand and of course, the U.S. To help you decide which type is best for you, we’ve chosen three sumptuous villas as examples of the variety of luxury and locations you can find in a villa vacation. For hundreds of choices, be sure to visit our Villa Finder after the showcased examples.

Mary Lou says
Yes, I agree villas are wonderful for some guest especially if no one wants to cook & clean but then there are villas where the group can do their own cooking.
They are great fun for couples who want a nice living room or pool area to just visit among themselves not a public area.
They are also great for family gatherings. Everybody enjoys the kids and they can go to their room for nap when needed.
Renting a villa is a great idea!
